Right now.
Outside.
Seriously, am I in the Mid-Atlantic in June? You wouldn't know it from today's weather: a perfect mix of cool breezes, warm sunshine, and low humidity. Good spring so far. Keep it comin', Mother Nature!
Inside.
The above snap is a beautiful pink vinegar made with chive blossoms. The recipe comes courtesy of master canner Marissa McClellan over at food in jars. Try it -- it's delightful!

Daydreaming.
All this reading about wilderness and homesteading has only fueled my desire for a little bunky somewhere distant, isolated, rough. Like Vermont, say, or Maine. Somewhere close to Canada, somewhere with some land, room to breathe, a lack of things like people and pollution and human-made noise.
How's about these?
rustic and in need of some help, under $60K, 1.5 acres, with this view
:::
cute A-frame on 1.4 acres, move-in ready, with requisite babbling brook
not a cabin but the house I really want: circa-1860 farmhouse for about $80K
Someday.
Someday.

Fox.

Photo by DJ Menges via Flickr
Beyond the poplars, in a dense stand of spruce, Garrett arranged the animal in the snow at the base of a tree. He broke off evergreen boughs and laid them over it. He hoped it would snow again soon.
